What is mediation?
Mediation is an alternative dispute resolution process where an impartial third party, the arbitrator, facilitates negotiations between the parties to a case to promote a voluntary settlement of the dispute before trial.

Mediation is a process of negotiation in a relationship to resolve differences. When a couple is getting divorce and they work with a neutral third party to help them resolve their divorce issues and share property and assets, this is an example of mediation.
How long does a mediation take?
A mediation session can last anywhere from two hours, or three hours, or maybe a full day, depending on the case. All participants attended the full session, although there are usually several breaks and opportunities for private meetings with mediators and / or counselors.
How much does mediation cost?
Well, Most of the Mediators cost minimum $3,000 and maximum $8,000 which can be outside of the range in some cases. If you and your spouse share the fee 50-50, as most couples do, it will translate into a general cost of $ 1,500 to $ 4,000 for each of you. Who pays for mediation costs?
